M83

M83 was formed in 2001 by Anthony Gonzalez and Nicolas Fromageau. They began with remixes of songs by Depeche Mode and Placebo while also creating their own shoegaze music. Up until 2005 they have reached a huge amount of critical success. However, around this time Fromageau decided to leave M83 while Gonzalez continued on with the band name as a solo project. Despite the sudden lineup change M83 did manage to gain even more popularity. His latest album "Saturdays=Youth" has gotten great reviews from pretty much everyone. Expect more great music to come from Gonzalez in the near future.
