This isn't the average new wave band. First off, there are only two permanent members, Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux. These two are the ones playing the instruments. Secondly, they only do covers of punk or new wave songs. This can include anyone from The Cure all the way to the Dead Kennedys. Lastly, they have up 15 singers. What makes this even more interesting is that the singers are to preform songs they have never heard before. This gives the song a bit more originality. But don't think this is a new idea. The band has been doing this since 2004 when their debut self-titled album was released. This album became a huge hit among critics. This was followed up by "Bande A Part". It was again filled with jazz versions of classic new wave songs. Most recently they've released their third album called "3". The same techniques were used but they managed to get a few of the original singers on to the record. This included Martin Gore of Depeche Mode to sing during the chorus of "Master And Servant". Their covers have also been used for several adverts, films, TV shows. Their version of "Making Plans For Nigel" by XTC was even on the Air France website. Expect this cover to make it huge in North America in the next few years. By the way, if you haven't clued into it yet, Nouvelle Vague in French for new wave.http://www.myspace.com/nouvellevague
