Mano Negra

Formed in 1987 by a couple of brothers, a cousin, and a few other musicians Mano Negra would be the stepping off point Manu Chao needed to start his own solo career. They mixed together the sounds of punk, ska, reggae and Latin with multiple languages. All four if their albums were very highly rated and loved by many. This got them fame in three continents that can still be found today. Young musicians are also continuing to be influenced by Mano Negra's music. Sadly, after only eight years, the members went their separate ways. However, they have still managed to release several compilations and even a DVD in 2005. Expect a successful reunion if Manu ever gets tired of his solo act.
