Camille

In a career that isn't even a decade long, she's proven to be quite a force in the France music scene. Starting out in jazz clubs in Paris, it didn't take long for Camille to get a record deal with Virgin Records in 2002. By 2004 her debut album, Le sac des Filles, finally came out. This also got the attention of one of the founding members of Nouvelle Vouge. Camille got to sing on 4 tracks from NV's first album including "Too Drunk To Fuck". By 2005 another album was released, Le Fil, and this what catapulted her into fame. It managed to go Gold in France despite it being very avant-garde. Only two instruments are used on the whole album, a double bass and a keyboard. This album also got her two awards at the Victoires de le musique. Since then she's released a live album and did some work with the film Ratatouille. Not only did she provide a song for the movie but if you watch the film in French, that's Camille playing the voice of Collette. In 2008 she released her third studio album, Music Hole, and received another Victoires de la musique award. She is now on the last few dates of a tour and plans to make another album sometime soon.
