Dumas

Dumas (born Steve Dumas in 1979) is originally from Victoriaville, Quebec and has his own haunting spin on Canadian indie music. In 2001 he released his debut self-titled album. This got him enough attention to come out with a second record two years later. It was this album got him more successful and outside of hipster circles started listening to him. A year later he collaborated with Carl Bastien for the film Les Animats soundtrack. This could arguably be his most mainstream work to date. The soundtrack even won a Felix Award for Album of the Year in 2005. Since then he has been releasing limited edition albums of only 10,000 copies made. There has also been less wait between albums for fans. Dumas managed to come out with two full-length record this year. Who knows? He might just try and come out with a third one in time for the holidays.
