Kaolin

With so many influences ranging from Radiohead and Arcade Fire to Weezer and Noir Desir it couldn't have been easy to settle on how they wanted to sound. Luckily, Kaolin managed to come up with their own twist on melo-indie rock and still make it pleasing to the hear. Formed back in 1999 they've always been grounded and continue to rehearse in their hometown, Montlucon, which in directly in the center on France. In that town they self-recorded and -produced their first two EPs. By 2001 they caught the attention of a record label and got a chance to work with Dave Fridmann who just happens to have also worked with several of their influences. Kaolin is currently on hiatus while lead singer Gulliaume Cantilion is touring around France promoting his solo career.
